Paolo Bea crafts the most unique, intriguing, and traditional wines from Umbria, Italy. He is known for his masterful Sagrantino di Montefalco that has no equal. That wine is extremely limited and a bit costly. Lucky for us he is now producing a more affordable IGT rosso called San Valentino. This is a field blend consisting of Sangiovese, Montepulciano, and Sagrantino. This is a rustic traditional wine that is mid-weight, silky textured, and finishes with soft subtle tannins. The bouquet consists of tobacco, herbs, and spice notes. The palate displays beautiful notes of black cassis, earth, and ripe raspberries. Mmmmm..... So good!
